Hytale has native Mac support for Apple Silicon, available since the early access launch on January 13, 2026. Despite a last-minute issue with Apple's signing certificate before launch, Hypixel Studios resolved it and Mac support shipped on day one.
Mac Version Status
Hytale is fully playable on Mac with native Apple Silicon support. You can download it from the official Hytale website.
Apple Silicon Only
Hytale only supports Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4 chips). Intel Macs are not supported.
The team explained:
"We will NOT launch Hytale for Intel Macs as Apple themselves abandon them in the next macOS version. We are a small team and there is no way we can support abandoned platforms."
This makes sense given Apple's transition away from Intel. If you have an older Intel Mac, you won't be able to play Hytale natively.
Mac System Requirements
The official Mac requirements are:
- Minimum: Apple M1, 8GB RAM, macOS Tahoe (26.0)
- Recommended: Apple M2, 16GB RAM, macOS Tahoe (26.0)
- Storage: 20GB SSD (required)
Options for Intel Mac Users
If you have an Intel-based Mac, your options are limited:
Use a Windows PC. If you have access to a Windows computer that meets the system requirements, that's your best option.
Virtual machines. Tools like Parallels Desktop can run Windows, but gaming performance varies. This is not officially supported.
Wait and see. The community may find ways to run Hytale through compatibility layers, but this won't be officially supported.
Cross-Play with Windows and Linux
Mac players can join the same servers as Windows and Linux players. The game uses the same codebase across platforms.
Linux Also Available
Hytale also has experimental Linux support (x64, not ARM) using flatpak. The team has developers who work natively on Linux, so expect support to improve over time.
